Windrush Barn - Holiday Accommodation for people with disabilities
Windrush Barn is set beside a large sunny courtyard which is shared with Maggie and Imtaz’s farmhouse and other outbuildings.
The barn can sleep up to 12 people, although smaller numbers can still feel comfortable due to the flexible layout of the accommodation over two levels.
Most of the living space is situated on the first floor of the barn benefiting from stunning views of Black Coombe and the surrounding farmland. The upper level can be accessed by both stairs and a wheelchair lift.
The first floor comprises:
- A spacious lounge equipped with Wifi, books, games and a CD player as well as large windows looking across farmland towards Black Coombe. There is a digital T.V. with integral freeview,DVD player and a huge selection of DVDs.
- A well equipped kitchen with double electric range cooker, fridge freezer, microwave,slow cooker,electric liquidiser, dishwasher, and plenty of crockery, cutlery and pans.
- A separate dining room with room for wheelchairs.
- One double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a child’s cot.
- One small double bedroom with a fantastic view.
- A separate WC with washbasin.
The ground floor comprises:
- A large reception hall with lift and stairs to the first floor as well as parking and a powerpoint for recharging an electric powered wheelchair.
- One double bedroom and fully wheelchair accessible ensuite bathroom with ceiling track hoist.
- One twin bedroom, which includes one electric medi bed and one domestic electric bed.
- One large twin bedroom with two electric medi beds and plenty of room for floor hoist.
- One smaller bedroom with twin beds.
- A shower room with a WC and wheelchair accessible shower.
- A second shower room with WC and with no-step shower.
- All bathrooms are fitted with appropriate grab rails.
- Games room with table football and hockey and a large selection of books and games .
- Utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and double sink.
